Government reports higher production

The statement attributed to Mines Minister Amadou Kéita put first-half 2026 industrial gold production at 23.5 tonnes, compared with approximately 18 tonnes a year earlier and an initial forecast of 21.2 tonnes. It retained a full-year target of 43.2 tonnes. (gouvernement.ml)

The ministry also said audits of mining companies had recovered CFA761 billion in arrears. It linked the sector’s restructuring to the 2023 mining code and local-content legislation, under which combined Malian interests can reach 35% of project capital. (gouvernement.ml)

Permit reviews continue

October 22 reporting also described continued verification of mining titles and prospective cancellations where operators fail to meet their obligations. These statements indicate continued regulatory pressure, rather than a completed new wave of cancellations established by the material reviewed. (fassoactu.com)

The government publication date is clear. Accounts differ on the underlying press conference’s date, so the statement should not be presented unequivocally as remarks first delivered on October 22. (fassoactu.com)
