Health Minister Abdelmadjid Abderahim gave the instructions to private-clinic and medical-practice representatives on 3 November, extending coordination beyond public facilities. He emphasised adherence to treatment protocols and the dangers of self-medication.

In a separate statement, the national pharmacists’ order warned against aspirin, ibuprofen and other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medicines when dengue is suspected or confirmed because of haemorrhage risks. It urged urgent consultation for severe abdominal pain, persistent vomiting, bleeding, breathing difficulties or marked weakness—even after fever subsides.

The order also reiterated that dengue care in public health facilities became free under the government’s 2 November decision. It advised medical assessment rather than assuming every fever is dengue, since malaria can produce similar symptoms.
