The informal retail price has risen to CFA1,100 a litre, from CFA1,000 roughly three months earlier. The latest increase occurred less than a week before 29 October, according to Studio Tamani’s local reporting.

Resellers attribute the increase to shortages. Consumers also report that several service stations have stopped selling because they lack stock, narrowing motorists’ access to formal supplies. The number of affected stations and the timetable for replenishment remain unclear.
