Customs Director-General Yves Kafando announced on 31 October that October receipts had exceeded CFA141 billion against a forecast of CFA121 billion. His message to staff put performance at about 116% of target, with the monthly accounts still awaiting closure.

Cumulative collections exceeded CFA1.231 trillion with two months of the budget year remaining. Kafando said that amount matched all customs revenue collected during 2025. The figures represent an improvement in the cash collected by customs, an important contributor to the state’s domestic resources.

Kafando also praised the anti-fraud operation Magnan, conducted from 10 July to 15 October. His statement treats that operation and October’s revenue performance separately: the CFA141 billion is the monthly collection figure, not the value of seizures or recoveries from Magnan. No quantified seizure total accompanied the announcement.
