The distribution targets 1,158,400 nets for 2,059,475 people in 351,111 households, covering 22 departments in Hodh Ech Chargui, Hodh El Gharbi, Assaba, Gorgol, Guidimakha and Trarza.
Health officials said the campaign is intended to reduce malaria transmission and the burden on vulnerable households and health facilities. The programme has support from the Global Fund, WHO and other partners. The figures describe intended coverage; completed household deliveries were not yet quantified.
