Humanitarian plans for Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger had received $451 million by 23 October, 24% of what they require, according to a UN overview from OCHA, the UN’s humanitarian co-ordination office, distributed on 3 November. The one-page graphic is dated 26 October.
The overview says 11.4 million people in the three countries need humanitarian assistance in 2026. The plans target 7.6 million of them and prioritise 3.6 million. Funding measures money received against requirements, not the number of people reached.
The funding table covers all of each country, including the whole of Niger. By country, Niger was funded at 20%, Burkina Faso at 24% and Mali at 27%. Elsewhere in the overview, the figures cover Burkina Faso, Mali and western Niger, the regions of Tahoua and Tillabéri. OCHA said insecurity, access problems and limited resources constrain the response, and called for stronger support from donors.
