Endeavour Mining disclosed on 2 November that part of an access ramp at Mana subsided on 28 October, restricting access to the Dangouna and Aviera underground entrances through the depleted Wona open pit. All underground workers were evacuated, nobody was injured, and local authorities were notified.
The suspension covers all three active underground entrances, including Wona, which remains accessible. Engineers are assessing ground conditions and the work needed to repair the ramp. Endeavour is considering restarting and accelerating mining through Wona and using nearby open pits to limit the production loss.
The interruption adds to an already difficult year for Mana. Before this incident, the mine was expected to fall below its original annual production range of 155,000–180,000 ounces, following earlier depletion of the higher-grade Siou deposit and delayed open-pit mining. Endeavour owns 85% of Mana; Burkina Faso holds the remainder.
Endeavour maintained its group-wide 2026 production and sustaining-cost guidance. It plans to publish its engineering assessment and repair plan with third-quarter results on 12 November; the duration of Mana’s shutdown and its lost output remain unquantified.
