Chad's health ministry received 9,050 rapid dengue tests on Saturday, a donation from the World Bank channelled through its health projects coordination unit, the ministry said in a statement reported by Xinhua.
Ayoub Moussa Abderamane, who heads the ministry's pharmacy, medicines and laboratories department, took delivery and said the tests would be made available “immediately” to health facilities across the country as part of the national response. He repeated that diagnosis and treatment of dengue are completely free in all public health facilities. Dengue cases have been rising for several weeks, especially in the capital, N'Djamena, Xinhua said.
The statement covers delivery to the ministry; getting the tests to clinics is still a promise.
