The RN4 works include asphalt resurfacing intended to improve road durability and traffic conditions. Equipment Minister Salissou Mahaman Salissou confirmed that construction had started during a 3 November inspection. Financing comes from domestic public resources through the road-maintenance contracting agency, AMODER.

The project connects with the rehabilitation of the 112-kilometre Farié–Téra road, improving continuity along a corridor the government identifies as important for national supplies. The nine-month period is the contractual construction schedule.
